Strings Attached Makes a Difference in the Austin Community
Whether it be raising money for a natural disaster or teaching kids in the community something about music, Will Taylor and Strings Attached is committed to reaching out.
Music for Elders
Many of the elderly in our community don't have the access to or have the mobility to listen to the music they love and grew up with. So we have committed ourselves to bringing the healing and invigorating power of music to them, live. We provide 45-minute music programs, specializing in music from the 20's, 30's and 40's, as well as fulfilling specific musical requests. Nursing homes, hospice patients and retirees are some of the people and places we like to visit.

Music for Kids
We engage kids of all ages through interactive and educational school experiences. See video above.
Dear Will, It was such a joy to have you here at McCallum. Thanks for coming out. I’ve had such a great response from faculty and students alike! You really made an impression. The McCallum H.S. kids were absolutely mesmerized and surprised all of us with their rapt attention. You were formally pronounced “Cool” in the halls afterwards for days. Of course, now my orchestra kids wont let me rest with requests for some Duke Ellington…The most illuminating moments came when you demonstrated the difference between the standard, straight-ahead apporach to jazz, and your adventurous arrangements and compositions. These elements are not necessarily in most students’ experience…thank you for sharing yourself with us… Best Regards, M. Anne Rardin (exerp from a letter sent by M. Anne Rardin of the McCallum High School Creative and Performing Arts Department, Austin, TX) |

Wildfire Benefit 2011
After hearing about the devestation that the Bastrop wildfires were causing, Will scrambled to get every musician he could find to get together and raise money for the survivors. The fires started on Sunday and by the end of Friday night, over $10,300 had been raised for the Central Texas Red Cross! Thanks to everyone who came and showed a tremendous outpouring of support for their fellow Texans and had a great time too! Click here to see photos.
